Firstly, I decided I'm going to start labeling my photography posts with N/A (Not Art) and A (Art). There will be far fewer As than N/As, because the As take a lot more concepting, planning, time and stress induced hair pulling.
Secondly, this week's busy. I got roped into managing the middle school musical (Sime's in it) when I found the director in tears one morning. My heart isn't made of stone people. What that means is that I've been going all day working on stuff that should have been done by someone else weeks ago.
So, I'm cheating this week and posting a couple older pictures. One is from quite awhile ago and one is a few months. But they're similar exposures and illustrate an effect that I L...O...V...E. I think the technical term is "flaring," but don't quote me on that. Because then you might look stupid.
The first was a slightly more candid picture I took while shooting some holiday pics for a fantastic friend (more Fs!). The second was obviously more staged, taken last summer.
Flaring and flash. Two great tastes that taste great together.

yay! i LOVE love love this shot of simon. there's another one of the 4 kids with a similar effect that i adore, too. in fact, it's on the list to become a big ol' canvas at some point. the other pic is great, too, it just doesn't have my kid in it...;)
