Dave and I were at our new favorite restaurant, Justine's, tonight. I've eaten there twice. Yesterday and today. I was there last night with some new friends and liked it so much that I was more than happy to take Dave back the very next night so he could try it too. I think he liked it even more than I did, which is ridiculous.
I won't bore you with food descriptions, except to say it was just so so SO delish. But this is a boring photography post, not a boring food post. So, I will bore you with the picture instead.
This is a picture of a picture I wanted to take. I didn't have my camera with me. I actually don't carry it wherever I go, because sometimes I just don't want to be in photography mode. Sometimes I want to be connected and engaged, and that's just not easy with a camera distracting me. Tonight, I wanted a nice little quite dinner, in a nice little east side restaurant, with my nice little spouse. The camera was not a part of that scenario. But, while there, I saw two pictures that I really really wanted to take, but couldn't. C'est la vie, I say. (And I say it in my best French accent, because we're at a French brasserie!)
However, sometimes I will still take a picture of the picture I wanted to take. The vision is utterly mutilated by my camera phone, but it reminds me, and sometimes I want the reminder.
Here's my picture of my picture:
This was taken in the bathroom stall of the restaurant. It was lit with candles and had a scratchy, broken mirror on the wall. I think it could have made a really great picture.
But who knows? Maybe it would've sucked.

I do the ole lame shot from my cell phone, for lack of my good camera too from time to time. I actually like the way yours turned out though. Because it's all fuzzy and cell phoney it makes the picture kind of um (gear up for the cliche!) dream like. Not that your picture is cliche. I just lack words to describe it. We'll stick with "it's cool".
Although I liked where you were going with this, I still felt compelled to call the cops about the woman snapping candid pics in the women's restroom. You always did love me for my principles.
please describe the food!!!
