You would have loved my former book group. We met monthly, no housecleaning allowed, no food preparation expected of the hostess.
We tried reading the same book. We did it successfully only once, but found that we really wanted to read our own agenda, not what someone else suggested. So we switched the format and just shared what we had been reading. It is encouraging to hear what someone else thinks about the book they've been reading.

How hilarious! For some reason I was stand-offish about reading The Help as well but of course I loved it. I really do have a list of some fantastic books that I do think you would love! Or how's this, books that I love. I beg people for recommendations because there are so many choices out there! Natalie's recommendation of Cider House Rules is right on. And The Book Thief. No, you'd really love it! No I'm serious! And I saw a scarf that you should really get ;)

I loved The Help too. It's great. I can't wait for the movie. Our bookclub will go see it together since we read it together last year. Enjoy! I like to read old school once in awhile too, but the Kindle is pretty much my most prized possession!
